MINNEAPOLIS, October 6, 2016—Logistics Planning Services (LPS) announced today it is holding a donation drive to support the missions of One Love Brigade and Robin’s Nest, both nonprofit organizations that support children’s needs in Jamaica, on October 14, 2016. To mark the occasion, two teams of LPS employees will square off in a KnockerBall®-style soccer game.
Employees have been asked to bring gently-used children’s bicycles, soccer balls, shoes, sandals and clothing items that will be ultimately shipped to children in Jamaica. One Love Brigade’s collection goal in 2016 is 300 kids’ bikes. Last year, LPS arranged and paid for the shipping of 100 bikes.
CEO Kirsten Hall noted that giving back and charitable support is fundamental to the family business’s core values. “When my parents started LPS more than 25 years ago, they knew it would be built on a cornerstone of philanthropy, helping others in need.” Today, that principle is manifested in numerous charitable causes and a generous employee charity matching program.
